School Trash Gardening Project Key Activities
The project has been divided into 3 main stages: Pre-implementation campaign, Implementation campaign and Monitoring and Evaluation.
Stage 1: Pre – implementation campaign
- Volunteers selection: From local areas
- Engaging them in online campaigns, giving online challenges with a view to enhancing their awareness and understanding about the related (but not limited to) topics: Climate change, Plastic usage and its impacts on environment, hydroponic, vertical garden, sustainable gardening
Stage 2: Implementation campaign
- Volunteers are divided into small groups to collect plastic bottles and necessary materials in the local area by encouraging the community to donate their PET bottles. At the same time, they are responsible for popularizing the project in the community under the guidance and coordination of the leading team.
- The collected PET bottles will be then used to establish vertical gardens at target primary schools. These gardens are used for green landscape of the schools and then, for feeding programs.

- By collecting opinions from students, volunteers, teachers about the quality of gardens, attitude of students toward the gardens
- Making adjustments to maintain the green garden, engage little students in the project.
